Welcome to the RAHRC American Section in Muscat, Oman. We are here to share and invite the community to experience American culture. Or if you are missing home, we hope to transport a bit of America back here to Muscat for your enjoyment. We can also provide advice, tips or recommendations for those traveling or relocating from and to the U.S.

As an example of our melting pot tradition, we have our annual, signature event Mardi Gras. This is a carnival commemorating the beginning of a religious holiday. The tradition was started and is celebrated in the traditionally ethnic French city of New Orleans. Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday which is how you’ll feel after feasting on our deliciously inspired Cajun Creole cuisine.

Our committee is comprised of American and American enthusiasts. Only an appreciation of American culture is required to join!

Treasurer: Raul Valdez is from Houston, Texas and a Reservoir Engineer at PDO. He and his family have been here just over a year after spending 5 years in the Netherlands prior to this posting.

Secretary: Heidi Garrity is a financial consultant from California and enjoyed several Mardi Gras while living in New Orleans for 10 years.  She and her family have lived in Rio de Janeiro for 4 years, the Netherlands for 4 years and now 4 years in Oman.
