Dear Members,
As the cool winter months end the club is jam packed with activities on and around RAH before the summer heat sets in.
March 8/9th: 46th Muscat open was held at RAHGC where 82 players competed. 21 foreign players attended this year’s event coming from all parts of the world (Bahrain, UK, Abu Dhabi, Qatar & Scotland). An 18 year old and 2016 winner Yaseen Le Falher came out as 2019 winner. Coming up on 22/23rd March is RAHGC club championship were we find out who is the best golfer at the Ras Al Hamra club. Get ready golf coaching sessions are open to be booked, please contact the golf club for more information.
Sport plays a major part of the club and as always, there are many activities ongoing in Tennis free trial lessons plus special kids lessons “Flash Saturdays” and the championship ongoing since February. Football academy registration is open, New adult judo classes are available with a new fitness class timetable. The annual pool & snooker tournament took place on 23 March.
In February, we saw the ORAC extreme Wahiba challenge, sailing regatta, Kids cricket tournament starting and running until mid-March and interdepartmental cricket tournament. Water Front Contractor (Sport-Zone) is moving ahead with RYA accreditation for the Club, starting with the Powerboat accreditation. Sailing training accreditation to follow later. This means the Club will be issuing internationally recognized certificates for the powerboat training, more to follow on this in due course. April sees Hobie helm conversion sailing..
